Sam Klemet is the Executive Director of the Detroit Auto Dealers Association and Detroit Auto Show. A native of Metro Detroit, Klemet attended Michigan State University earning a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. The first decade of his career was spent as an on-air journalist in Illinois, Minnesota, and Indiana before transitioning to leadership roles as the Director of Member Service for the Indiana Broadcasters Association (IBA) and Arland Communications. After six years there, Klemet was hired as President and CEO of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) where he served for nearly three years and developed signature initiatives including the Great Lakes Broadcast and Sports Media Academy at Ford Field which is the largest event of its type in the industry for students as well as oversaw an award-winning “Be There” marketing campaign aimed at job recruitment in the broadcasting industry. In May 2024, Klemet was appointed as Co-Executive Director of the DADA and Detroit Auto Show, working closely with current Executive Director Rod Alberts. He is set to take on the full role after the Detroit Auto Show in January 2025, bringing his passion and visionary leadership to one of the auto industry's most iconic events.

For over 100 years, Detroit has hosted one of the largest auto shows in the world and will do so once again when the show returns to its traditional calendar slot in January 2025.
New Co-Executive Director Sam Klemet will share insights into how he is transitioning the Detroit Auto Show through a time of massive transformation in the auto and mobility industry.
