In a landscape where many states showed recent, considerable economic growth, Michigan grew more slowly in its quest to become a Top 10 state. Business Leaders for Michigan’s annual benchmarking shows improvement in individual metrics but overall, Michigan has slipped from 29 to 31 nationally and we have been leapfrogged by states such as Ohio and Tennessee.
Inflation, talent and supply chain continue to grab national economic headlines. Here at home, economists and Michigan business leaders hold mixed opinions on the state’s outlook.
Join Elaine Buckberg and Quentin Messer Jr. as they share their thoughts on Michigan’s 2023 economy, including the outlook for the auto industry and how we can attract new businesses to our great state.
Results of the 11th annual Michigan Economic Outlook Survey will be unveiled at this meeting. This highly collaborative effort involves input from over 1,000 businesspeople and many associations throughout the state.
